What file types can students submit?
Documents, slides, spreadsheets, notebooks, images and typed text. Viva reads the content, not just the filename.
790 reads
- PDF, including scanned and image-only PDFs, which are read with OCR.
- Word and plain text.
- PowerPoint and slide decks.
- Excel and CSV, with formulas read as well as values.
- Jupyter notebooks, where code cells and their outputs are both read.
- Audio and video recordings, transcribed automatically — see audio and video submissions.
- Code files: Python, JavaScript, Java, C, SQL, R and about twenty more, read as source.
- Apple iWork — Pages, Numbers and Keynote. Converted to PDF on our side, so the report highlights evidence on the document itself.
- HWP (한글), saved as .hwpx.
- Images of handwritten or drawn work.
- Text typed straight into the submission box, with no file at all.
