How do we know Viva grades fairly? Can I trust it?

We would rather you did not take a grade on faith. Every score on Viva links to the transcript and the specific quotes behind it, so the question "why did this student get this?" always has an answer you can read.

• Grading runs at a fixed setting, so the same transcript grades the same way twice.
• Anchor examples hold the scale steady across classes and institutions.
• High-stakes assignments get an independent second pass before you see anything.
• Grades that fail an internal consistency check are held rather than shown.
• You can override any grade, and your number is the one that counts.

We do not claim Viva is never wrong. It is wrong sometimes, in ways we can usually explain afterwards. So the evidence is always in front of you, and the override is always there.
