Can I tune the prompts myself?

Not the system prompts. You get the controls that matter without the ones that break grading consistency.

Raw prompt editing is not exposed. If every instructor ran a different prompt, no two grades in your department would mean the same thing, and a grade appeal would have no defensible standard behind it.

What you get instead reaches the same outcomes through channels that stay consistent and auditable:

  • Custom questions, asked verbatim.
  • Instructions and reference files, which Viva treats as the definition of the task.
  • Weights, duration and the grading rubric.
  • Oral exam mode, where you author the question blueprint yourself.

If there is something you cannot express through those, tell us — that is a gap in the product, and it is the kind of request that changes the roadmap.

This is one page of the documentation inside Viva.

Instructors get the rest — the walkthroughs, the screenshots, and Ask Viva, which finds the right page from a typed question.
