What happens to my recordings and my data?
Your data never trains any AI model. Your instructor sees your work; nobody else does.

- Nothing that identifies you is ever used to train a model. From September 20, 2026, de-identified transcripts and submission text may be used to improve Viva, including its AI, unless you turn that off in Settings. Your voice recordings and Voice ID never are.
- Your instructor and their teaching team can see your work and your interview. Other students cannot.
- Recordings are kept so a grade can be reviewed or appealed, then deleted, normally 90 days after your grade is released.
- Voice comparison requires your explicit consent, and you can decline without any penalty to your grade.
- You can request deletion of your account and your data.
