How do deadlines work in Viva?
The deadline is for submitting. Your conversation follows it, in its own short window.

- The deadline shown on the assignment is when you must submit by, in your own local time.
- An oral check-in states its deadline in UTC everywhere it appears, dashboard cards included. The check-in page also shows your own local time beside it, so a class spread across countries reads one number and nobody has to convert.
- You do not need to submit early just because a conversation follows.
- After you submit, a 15-minute window to start the conversation begins.
- Viva applies no automatic late penalty. Your instructor decides that, as they always did.
