Why instructor accounts open by invitation
Three things open an instructor account: your institution email, a colleague who is already on Viva, or a short demo. Students are never affected.

Right now we set every instructor up in person, so the first assignment runs with someone from Viva watching for anything that goes wrong. On the signup page, Instructor accounts open by invitation is that door. Sign-in never changes: an account you already have keeps working on any address.
- Your institution is on Viva: sign up with your institution email address and you are in straight away, joined to your school.
- A colleague is on Viva: they can add you as a co-teacher from their class, or share their referral link, and either one opens the door.
- Neither yet: leave your address on the signup page or at vivaproof.com/request-access and we book a short demo, usually the same day. The first assignment is on us.
