What is the data policy, and is student data used for training?

No student data trains any model. Here is what is stored, for how long, and who can see it.

  • Student submissions, transcripts and recordings are never used to train models. Not ours, and not a provider's.
  • Interview audio and transcripts are retained so you can review a grade, and are purged on the published schedule.
  • Voice comparison requires the student's explicit consent and can be declined without penalty.
  • Instructors see their own students. School admins see aggregates, not individual reports.
  • Subprocessors are named in the privacy policy, including the model providers that process transcripts.

For an institutional review, the student-data one-pager is written for exactly that audience and is quicker to get approved than the full policy.

Instructors get the rest — the walkthroughs, the screenshots, and Ask Viva, which finds the right page from a typed question.
